ABOUT ME

HI! I'M WRYGRINN

I'm 19 and an OC (original character) centered artist, meaning I primarily draw my own characters. I'm primarily active on places such as instagram, and my personal website. I also used to be active on Twitter but not anymore LOL.
I take inspiration from things such as psychological horror (primarily just Silent Hill) along with things I generally find intresting. I don't really do much with my time, I just sit on my ass drawing or typing out meaningless bullshit that just so happens to make me happy.

When I'm not sitting around melting my brain, I write things for my characters and listen to the worst metal sub-genre known to man, black metal. I'm quite a big fan of it, though I don't really fit into the genre itself simply because I shower on a daily basis and I'm not a Third Reich fan.

That's not ALL I listen to thankfully, I listen to a myriad of things such as death, doom, crust (sometimes), hardstyle and nu metal (aka what I started out with at 10 years old) out of all things.

Aside from my terrible taste in music, I also have a terrible taste in design choices. I often take inspiration from older peices of media or combining older media with new in a way I see fit. That or I do a whole completely different thing.

That's enough about me I'm not really that intresting.

ABOUT MY ART

☣ I often focus on dark subjects when it comes to my art and often do not put warnings on things depicted, the same cannot be said with my writing.

☣ My primary program is Clip Studio Paint but I also scan my traditional drawings and modify them.

☣ I often take inspiration from horror media or generally dark artists, most of which being mutuals or people I know personally.

☣ When it comes to social media, I'm most active on instagram (I used to be somewhat active on twitter but that wasn't going anywhere)

☣ Though I am OC centered artist, I might also draw fanart but, not often.

My experience with web design

When it comes to designing a website, I have little to no idea what the fuck I'm doing. I managed to create this hellscape via others' help via fourm posts from 2009. It's either that or I type random words and hope they're actual tags.
My only real expereince I have with web design was in 7th grade when I took a coding class, my grades were awful because I couldn't understand Python, yet, I'm here making all of this shit.
It looks atrocious at the moment but, I'm only a beginner. I don't plan on doing a career with web design and merely do it as a hobby along with my growing hatred for Carrds.

My personal projects

I have 2 personal projects with different sectors of my characters. Though, I didn't intend for my writing and characters to florish the way they did until 2023 when I played Silent Hill 2 for the first time. Silent Hill has nothing to do with my character projects but, it improved my writing and made me give my "character sectors" a name.
  "Feign" is my oldest project dating all the way back in 2020 when I was 14, it wasn't intended to head in the direction it did. "Aderlass" was started in late 2022-mid 2023 and is my newest and is still in early development.Most of this is due to how recent half of the characters in it are along with cultural differences. Feign takes place in the U.S while Aderlass primarily takes place in Germany, I also make it harder for myself because I try to get everything as culturally accurate as I possibly can.
Most of this information is in my Toyhouse, where I store my characters.
